For This Purpose Jesus Appeared
“For this purpose Christ appeared, to destroy the works of the devil” (1Jn.3:6). What hope! What life! My heart is stirred just thinking about the end of all evil. I am reminded of the song, “No More Night” by Glen Campbell.
“No more night. No more pain.
No more tear, never crying again.
And praises to the Great I Am.
We will live in the light of the Risen Lamb.”
Not only will He end all evil someday on a grand scale, He is also intent on destroying evil and the causes of evil in me and in you. I am as hopeful and grateful for that as I am about the eternal hope. He is pursuing me and cleansing me, more and more each day — as I learn more of how to be connected with Him and indwelt by Him.
May we all seek to be purged of the vestiges of evil, and seek His goodness in our lives.
